This biennial year holding of the IWKA Championships is being
held in the heart of Pittsburgh's famous Triangle (as you can see just
behind the fountain at The Point) in the spacious Hilton Pittsburgh ballroom.
The intent is to give contestants, families, and other visitors a great
opportunity to enjoy an environment well suited to the competitions and to
relaxation and sight seeing. Within walking distance or a five minute
subway ride are the Carnegie Science Center or Museum, the Steelers and Pirates
stadiums, the anticipated to be newly opened casino, river boat dining, Pittsburgh Symphony,
major theatres, panoramic views from Mount Washington, and many outstanding restaurants.
We are making every effort to
have the Tournament flow along easily for all concerned and to reduce confusions
and distractions so you can focus on your events and support of friends.
NOTE: Early registration is
important for at least these reasons:
-
You'll save money.
-
You'll be less likely to go
first in an event.
-
Registering for a Hilton Hotel
room will avoid the possibilities of being at some distance and
-
possibly paying quite substantially higher rates.
-
Note that registering for the Championships
or the Hilton are separate processes. Rooms available
for Thursday are quite limited, so we strongly urge
you to register as early as possible.
Do check back to view the pages
on this site for Pittsburgh events and late breaking news for both the
Tournament and local activities.
